    Banks are considered the backbone of a country’s economy. Candidates can look forward to a fruitful career in the bank. Bank jobs in India is considered as one of the most sought after career option. Moreover the government have took the step to provide facilities to both village and town people, so that every citizen gets banking facility. More and more branches of banks are opening throughout the country.

    India’s banking sector is expanding rapidly. Keeping this in mind it also needs manpower at different levels. Essentially the recruitment in banking sector happens at the following levels :

  • Bank PO – This is a very lucrative post among bank aspirants as it is the first ladder to enter and serve as an officer in Banking Industry. The training period duration is of 1-2 years depending upon bank. After this the candidate will be appointed for an Assistant Manager (AM) or for Deputy Manager(DM) post. Starting salary of Bank PO ranges from Rs. 30,000 – Rs. 40,000 depending upon bank and also on posting location.
  • Bank Clerk – This is a clerical post in the bank. The training period duration is of 6 months. Salary of bank clerk is in the range of Rs. 15,000 – 20,000 depending upon bank and also on posting location.
  • Specialists Officers (SO) – As the name suggest, this a specialists officers post. It hires candidates for post like IT Officer, Marketing Officer, Law Officer, HR Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, etc.

    Every year, government bank recruit more than 1,00,000 candidates for various roles. So in the terms of employment in government sector, Banking is the most lucrative sector to grab a government job.

Bank Exams Pattern

    Recruitment under government bank is done in 3 stages i.e. first two phase are written test, which are called Prelims and Mains, and the third phase is the interview process. Candidates are shortlisted in each stage – Pre, Mains and Interview.

Bank PO Prelims Exam Pattern

    Bank PO Prelims Examination consist of Objective Tests for 100 marks and duration 1 hour which will be conducted online.

The Objective Test has 100 questions spread over 3 sections i.e English Language(30 Marks, 30 questions), Quantitative Aptitude(35 Marks, 35 questions) , Reasoning Ability(35 Marks, 35 questions).

    Preliminary exam is an objective type test which consists of 4 or 5 multiple choices . For every wrong answer, a negative mark of .25 will be detected.

SBI PO Main Exam Pattern

    SBI PO Main Exam consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and duration 3 hours conducted online.

    The Objective Test has 155 questions spread over 4 sections i.e Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (60 Marks, 45 questions, 60 minutes), Data Analysis & Interpretation (60 Marks, 35 questions, 45 minutes) , General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness (40 Marks, 40 questions, 35 minutes), English Language (40 Marks, 35 questions, 40 minutes),

    For wrong answers, marks equal to one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted.

Pattern of the Mains Descriptive Test

    The descriptive test paper will be of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks. You will be tested on Letter Writing & Essay.

Note: Descriptive Test are for those candidates who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in Objective Test.

SBI Clerk Mains Exam Pattern:

    SBI Clerk Main Exam consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and duration 2 hours 40 minutes conducted online.

    The Objective Test has 190 questions spread over 4 sections i.e General / Financial Awareness (50 Marks, 50 questions, 35 minutes), General English (40 Marks, 40 questions, 35 minutes) , Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks, 50 questions, 45 minutes), Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude (60 Marks, 50 questions, 45 minutes),

IBPS PO Main Exam Pattern

    IBPS PO Main Exam consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and duration 2 hours 20 minutes conducted online.
